The tour of Ed Waugh and Trevor Wood’s A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Durham continues tonight at Middlesbrough Theatre. Starring Chris Connel, Viktoria Kay and Robert Hudson, the play is an irreverent and anarchic take on the story of the Lindisfarne Gospels.
Ed says... “Having played to 2,500 people at the Gala theatre, Durham, we know the people of Northumberland (with a sense of humour) will love it. Our brief was to be irreverent and funny. We hope we succeeded in that while giving people a brief summary, in 100 minutes, of 1400 years of Northumbrian history. We are especially delighted to be returning to the three Northumberland venues where our play Amazing Grace was so well received last year.”
The tour also includes Bede’s World, Jarrow, on Friday July 19, and concludes at the Playhouse, Whitley Bay, on Sunday July 21. You can book tickets via www.edwaughandtrevorwood.co.uk or by calling the venues below.
