Congratulations to Kevin Brown, Head of Production at Potts Print (UK), who completed the Great North Run last Sunday in aid of the cancer charity Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. He finished the race in 2 hours 20 minutes, along with fundraising partner Glenn Burns, beating his previous time from the 2012 run.
Lady Elsie Robson was at the finish line on Sunday, where Kevin and Glenn were able to meet her and share their achievement.
This was the fifth sporting event in a year of fundraising, which also included the Blyth 10k and Hamsterley Forest 10k, plus the Ripon Spartan Race just one week before the Great North Run. Kevin and the Spartan Race team “Erin & Ellie-Mae’s Angels” have raised almost £2000 (and counting) for Tiny Lives – a charity that supports premature babies and their families.
The fundraising concludes this Saturday at Percy Park Rugby Club in North Shields, where the grand totals for Sir Bobby and Tiny Lives will be boosted via a band night and raffle.
Photos and totals to follow next week.
